Not So Newsworthy: Beyond the Headlines

My name is Anna, and I am the founder and author of Not So Newsworthy.
I am a politics student and an aspiring journalist who is dying to share their maybe-not-so-relevant opinion with the world (or with this small corner of the internet at least!)
As a strong advocate for social justice, and a proud member of the tofu-eating wokerati (contact Suella for membership inquiries), I am keen to use journalism as a tool to amplify the voices of marginalised groups, to condemn hierarchical political structures and to shed light on stories which are not being covered by the mainstream media. So, I thought to myself, why not set up my own blog to do just this? And that's how Not So Newsorthy was born (or the idea was, the actual website took me four months and six mental breakdowns to set up)
It is an online platform producing long-form journalism featuring underreported stories and unrepresented voices in the mainstream media that challenges systematic injustices and oppressive political structures. Hence, it is a space for stories deemed by the media and the general public as “not so newsworthy” to be represented and reclaimed.
Because mainstream media outlets tend to prioritise clicks and views as well as aligning with a political view over comprehensive reporting, they frequently exclude voices and views which challenge the status quo, often those of oppressed and disadvantaged communities. On my platform, I aim to publish insightful and impactful articles which foreground these marginalised perspectives and question oppressive forces and imbalances of power in our political and international structures.
